Influence of in-line skate setup on kinematics of the knee joint

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na zkoumání nastavení in-line brusle a jeho vliv na kinematiku kolenního kloubu. Cílem práce je zjistit vliv nastavení in-line bruslí ve frontální rovině na kinematiku kolenního kloubu. Praktická část obsahuje statistické a kvalitativní vyjádření třech variant nastavení rámu (laterální, mediální, neutrální) na in-line bruslích, které byly testovány při jízdě, startu a brzdění. Na výzkumu se podíleli 3 aktivní rychlobruslaři obou pohlaví, odlišného věku. Testování probíhalo v Centru diagnostiky lidského pohybu na Ostravské univerzitě, kde byly analyzovány tři proměnné: vertikální reakční síla podložky (VGRF), úhel a moment ve frontální rovině v kolenním kloubu. Výsledky ukázaly, že nastavení bruslí nijak zvlášť neovlivňuje kinematiku kolenního kloubu ve frontální rovině.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of various in-line skate settings and its impact on the kinematics of knee joint. The aim of the thesis is to determine how much the in-line skate setup can influence the kinematics of the knee joint. Practical part of this thesis contains statistical and qualitative data about three different settings of in-line skate frame (lateral, medial, neutral). Each setting was tested for skating, starting and braking. Three active speed skaters participated in this research, both sexes are included and each speed skater has different age. The research took place in Diagnostic Center of Human Movement at the University of Ostrava. Three different variables were analysed in this center: vertical ground reaction force (VGRF), angle and moment in frontal plane in knee joint. Results indicate that the setting of in-line skates does not influence kinematics of the knee joint.
