Changes of Lifestyle in Clients confined to a Wheelchair

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá změnami životního stylu, kterými prochází jedinci upoutaní na invalidní vozík. Jedná se zejména o psychosociální problémy a možnosti integrace. Cílem práce je získat informace o potížích znesnadňující začlenění do společnosti. V teoretické části se věnuji postojům jak handicapovaných klientů, tak zdravé populace, akceptací, socializací a rolemi handicapovaného, také potížím v komunikaci a možnostmi integrace. Praktická část obsahuje výpovědi konkrétních osob s tělesným postižením související se změnami, které handicapem vznikly, a to formou dotazníkového šetření.

Abstract:

The thesis is dealing with the changes of lifestyle of individuals confined to a wheelchair. The changes primarily involve psychosocial problems and possibilities of integration. The aim of the thesis is to gain information about problems complicating the integration into society. The theoretical part is devoted to the attitudes of the handicapped clients as well as of the healthy population; the attention is also drawn to the acceptance, socialization and role of the handicapped, to the communication problems and possibilities of integration. The practical part includes disabled persons? statements related to the changes which are caused by their handicap. The material for the practical part was collected on the basis of questionnaire enquiries.
