Initial Public Offerings as a source of corporate financing

Abstract:

Bakalářské práce se zabývá financováním podniku prostřednictvím primární emise akcií (IPO). V první části této práce jsou představena a zejména objasněna teoretická východiska, která se vztahují k dané problematice primární emise akcií. Tyto teoretické poznatky jsou dále uplatněny v druhé části bakalářské práce. Cílem bakalářské práce je vyhodnotit proces získávání prostředků financování prostřednictvím primární emise akcií (IPO) ve vybrané společnosti. Pro účely této bakalářské práce byla vybrána společnost Avast a jejich vstup na burzu cenných papírů v Londýně. Toto vyhodnocení je provedeno na základě analýzy samotného procesu primární emise a na základě finanční analýzy vybraných finančních ukazatelů za období před vstupem vybrané společnosti na burzu a za období po vstupu společnosti na burzu. Dílčím cílem je vytvořit dvouletou predikci vývoje vybraných ukazatelů pro společnost Avast.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the financing of a company through an initial public offering (IPO). In the first part of this thesis are presented and explained the theoretical background, which are related to the issue of initial public offering. These theoretical findings are further applied in the second part of the thesis. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the process of obtaining funding through the initial public offering (IPO) in a selected company. For the purpose of this thesis was chosen company Avast and its entry on the London Stock Exchange. This evaluation is based on the analysis of the initial public offering itself and on the basis of the financial analysis of selected financial indicators for the period prior to the entry of the selected company on the stock exchange and for the period after the entry of the company on the stock exchange. A partial goal is to create a two-year forecast of the development of selected indicators for Avast.
