The Development of the Population of the Parish of Horní Litvínov in the 17th and 18th Centuries.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá historicko-demografickým vývojem farnosti Horní Litvínov v 17. a 18. století. Farnost se skládala z obcí Dolní Litvínov, Horní Litvínov, Horní Ves, Chudeřín, Lipětín, Louka u Litvínova, Lounice, Meziboří, Písečná a Šumná. Vrchnostensky patřila pod velkostatek Duchcov-Horní Litvínov. Na základě matrik jsem sledoval proměnu populace farnosti. V prvních kapitolách jsem shrnul základní literaturu a typické prameny, stejně jako stručně popsání metodiky práce. V metodické části také popisuji možnosti zapojení umělé inteligence při získávání demografických dat. Dále uvádím historické pozadí důležité pro demografický vývoj, včetně majitelů panství. Středem pozornosti je kapitola zabývající se natalitou, mortalitou a sňatečností, s ohledem na proměnu Litvínovska, ovlivněnou výstavbou manufaktury roku 1715. K tomu využívám dvě matriky pokrývající léta 1684-1770. Výsledné údaje porovnávám například s Berní rolí a Tereziánským katastrem. Matriky tohoto období však nejsou úplné a některé informace nelze získat; u některých se pokouším alespoň o sondy, například ohledně věku snoubenců. Práce také zahrnuje porovnání s vývojem v jiných lokalitách a v několika případech se snažím rekonstruovat rodiny. Výsledky poté srovnávám s historickými událostmi a klimatickými podmínkami v daných letech.

Abstract:

The work deals with the historical-demographic development of the Horní Litvínov parish in the 17th and 18th centuries. The parish consisted of the villages of Dolní Litvínov, Horní Litvínov, Horní Ves, Chudeřín, Lipětín, Louka u Litvínov, Lounice, Meziboří, Písečná and Šumná. It belonged supremely to the Duchcov-Horní Litvínov estate. Based on the registers, I followed the transformation of the population of the parish. In the first chapters, I summarized the basic literature and typical sources, as well as a brief description of the methodology of the work. In the methodological part, I also describe the possibilities of involving artificial intelligence in obtaining demographic data. I also present the historical background important for the demographic development, including the owners of the manor. The focus is on the chapter dealing with birth rates, mortality rates and marriage rates, with regard to the transformation of Litvínov district, influenced by the construction of the manufactory in 1715. For this, I use two registers covering the years 1684-1770. I compare the resulting data with, for example, the Bern roll and the Teresian cadastre. However, the registers of this period are incomplete and some information cannot be obtained; with some, I at least try to probe, for example, regarding the age of the betrothed. The work also includes comparisons with developments in other locations and in several cases I try to reconstruct families. I then compare the results with historical events and climatic conditions in the given years.
