Bakalářská práce definuje jednotný digitální trh EU a vysvětluje jeho význam. Identifikuje významné mezníky, kterých bylo dosaženo při vytváření jednotného digitálního trhu a hodnotí plnění vybraných cílů. Bakalářská práce je členěna na čtyři kapitoly.
