Competence analysis of the European Union institutions in the area of the Common Foreign and Security Policy

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the observance and the nonobservance the competencies of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy during the Arab spring events (from 31st January to 20th June 2011) with using qualitative content analysis. The thesis is based on the theory of rational choice institutionalism and on the competencies of the High Representative in the Lisbon Treaty.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je, s pomocou kvalitatívnej obsahovej analýzy, analyzovať dodržiavanie a nedodržiavanie kompetencií inštitúcie vysokého predstaviteľa pre zahraničné veci a bezpečnostnú politiku EÚ počas prepuknutia udalostí arabskej jari (od 31. januára do 20. júna 2011). V práci vychádzame z teórie neoinštitucionalizmu racionálnej voľby a opierame sa o kompetencie dané Lisabonskou zmluvou.
