Mapping of physical barriers in Prague district 13 for purpose of creating conditions conducive to integration of physically disabled peple into society.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou bezbariérového přístupu osob se zrakovým postižením do padesáti veřejně přístupných budov v městské části Prahy 13. V práci je popsána charakteristika, druhy a stupně zrakových postižení a s tím související problematika bezpečného pohybu zrakově postižených osob ve veřejných prostorech. Dále jsou zde popsána jednotlivá legislativně doporučovaná podpůrná opatření, zajišťující samostatný a bezpečný pohyb těchto lidí v prostředí veřejných budov a veřejného prostranství. Cílem práce je provedení mapování bariér vně těchto objektů a vyhodnocení bezpečného bezbariérového přístupu do vybraných objektů pro zrakově postižené osoby. Výsledky práce by se mohly stát podkladem pro informace o bezbariérovém přístupu pro zrakově postižené na webových stránkách příslušné městské části.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of barrier-free access for visually impaired people to fifty select public buildings at the city district of Prague 13. The work describes the characteristics, types and degrees of vision impediments and the ways in which they impact safe mobility of visually impaired people in public spaces. The work also outlines individual supportive measures recommended by the legislative to ensure independant and safe movement of these people in public buildings and surrounding outer public spaces. The aim of the study is to map out the barriers outside of select public buildings at Prague 13 and to assess a safe barrier-free access into said buildings for the visually impaired. The outcome of the research is the assessment and evaluation of the accessibility of these buildings. The findings can be used as a basis for information regarding barrier-free access for the visually impaired provided at the city district web pages.
