Thermal and icy mode of rivers of Odra basin

Abstract:

Disertační práce pojednává o změnách teplotních režimů a doby výskytů ledových jevů na řekách povodí Odry. Poslední ucelená práce týkající se této problematiky byla vydána v roce 1970 a od této doby se autoři touto problematikou zabývali buď okrajově nebo ji nezachytili v širším měřítku. Tato práce proto shrnuje poznatky nashromážděné o teplotách toků a ledových jevech řek povodí Odry za posledních šedesát let. První dílčí oblast výzkumu je zaměřena na zachycení teplotních změn ve vybraných vodoměrných stanicích na hlavních tocích povodí Odry. Popis změn teplot vody v těchto tocích od roku 1950 je uveden pomocí dlouhodobých průměrných měsíčních a ročních teplot vod. Dále jsou v této kapitole zaznamenány teplotní maxima a minima v jednotlivých vodoměrných stanicích. Druhá oblast výzkumu se zabývá mírou teplotního ovlivnění horní a střední části toků vlivem výstavby údolních nádrží. Rozsah tohoto vlivu byl posuzován pomocí podélných teplotních profilů jednotlivých toků, korelogramů průměrných měsíčních teplot vod ve vodoměrných stanicích položených pod údolními nádržemi a metodou dvojných součtových čar. Dosavadní měření naznačila, že míra teplotního ovlivnění údolními nádržemi je značná a v některých případech doznívá až po 20 km. Teplotním ovlivněním dolní části toků vlivem vypouštění oteplených průmyslových odpadních vod a zasolených důlních vod z Ostravsko ? karvinské důlní oblasti se zabývá třetí oblast výzkumu. Tato forma antropogenního tlaku je nejvýznamnější v dolních částech řeky Odry, Ostravice a Lučiny. Proto byl výzkum teplotních změn zaměřen především na tyto tři řeky. Výzkum naznačil, že od začátku šedesátých let minulého století dochází na těchto řekách k zvyšování teploty vody. Nicméně od roku 1990, po ekologizaci průmyslových podniků, se teplotní odchylka na řekách zmenšuje. Jako hlavní producent odpadního tepla v současnosti byla určena Vodní jáma Jeremenko, výkon důlních vod odevzdaný řece Ostravici z tohoto zdroje tepelného znečištění je 175 MW. Poslední studovanou oblastí jsou ledové poměry na řekách povodí Odry. Měření naznačila, že v teplotně ovlivněných částech toků se doba výskytu ledových jevů zkracuje a ubývá i její druhové pestrosti.

Abstract:

This PhD. thesis is dealing with the thermal and icy mode of rivers of Odra basin. The last publication related to these problems has been published in 1970 and since that time all authors haven?t described these questions in larger criterion. Therefore this thesis sums up all the information about temperature and icy modes of rivers of Odra basin during last 60 years. The first part of the thesis is focused on temperature changes of main rivers of Odra basin near the chosen gauging stations. The description of the thermal changes from 1950 is presented by long-term average mouths and years water?s temperatures. In this section is also noticed thermal minimum and maximum of waters in every chosen gauging station. Second part of the thesis describes thermal influence of upper and middle parts of rivers due to water dams development. The measure of thermal influence of water dams is explored by 4 methods: Thermal lengthwise profile, Correlograms of average mounts waters temperatures, Temperatures changes comparison before and after dam construction and by Method of dual summary lines. By using of these 4 methods it has been discovered, that the rivers of Odra basin can return to unaffected water temperature (temperature of the water above water dam) after 20 kilometers. Influence of sewage draining on rivers thermal mode in industrial zones of Ostrava is the object of third part of the thesis. These forms of anthropogenic pressure are evident in the lowest parts of Odra, Ostravice and Lučina rivers. Therefore the research of thermal changes was focus on these three rivers of Odra basin. The research shows that at the beginning of the 60th the temperature in these rivers has been risen. The temperature rising stopped in 1990 and from this year it seems that the thermal departure is getting down. This fact could be explain by environmentalism?s changes in industrial establishments and cutting in production of sewage draining. The last monitored object of this thesis are icy modes of rivers of Odra basin. The research showed that in the thermal effected parts of rivers are the time of occurrence and the species richness of icy event lower than in the thermal unaffected parts of rivers.
