Forming the Relationship between a Social Worker and a Client in a Low Threshold Facility for Children and Youth

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na oblast utváření vztahu mezi sociálním pracovníkem a klientem ve vybraných nízkoprahových zařízeních pro děti a mládež. Teoretická část práce se zabývá vymezením pojmu sociálního pracovníka, podrobným popisem služby nízkoprahového zařízení pro děti a mládež a definuje profesní hranice ve vztahu klienta a sociálního pracovníka. Cílem diplomové práce je objasnit, jak vnímají utváření vztahu s klienty v nízkoprahových zařízeních pro děti a mládež samotní sociální pracovníci. Pro zodpovězení hlavní výzkumné otázky této práce byla zvolena kvalitativní metoda, rozhovor. Rozhovory byly vedeny se sociálními pracovníky ve vybraných nízkoprahových zařízeních pro děti a mládež. Metodou rozhovoru bylo postupně zjištěno, jakým způsobem vztahy s klienty utvářejí, s jakými situacemi se v této oblasti setkávají a s jakými úskalími se v průběhu tohoto procesu potýkají. Tato práce může být přínosem pro všechny profesionální pracovníky, kterých se tato problematika dotýká.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the formation of the relationship between the social worker and the client in selected low threshold facilities for children and youth. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of the concept of social worker, a detailed description of the service of low threshold facilities for children and youth and defines the professional boundaries in the relationship between the client and the social worker. The aim of the thesis is to clarify how social workers themselves perceive the formation of the relationship with clients in low threshold facilities for children and youth. To answer the main research question of this thesis, a qualitative method, the interview, was chosen. The interviews were conducted with social workers in the selected low threshold facilities for children and youth. The interview method was used to gradually find out how they form relationships with clients, what situations they encounter in this area and what pitfalls they face during this process. This work can be of benefit to all professionals affected by this issue.
