A development of Poděbrady spa according to the plans by František Janda

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá historií urbanistického řešení a jeho dopady na vývoj města Poděbrady. V práci jsou popsány a diskutovány klíčové plány architekta Františka Jandy od roku 1910 do roku 1948. V každém základním historickém období české historie od roku 1908 do současnosti je popsán stavební vývoj lázeňské části města a na příkladech jsou uvedeny stavební aktivity města. V každé kapitole je také zhodnoceno, jak se konkrétní období celkově odrazilo na urbanistickém obrazu města. V závěrečném shrnutí jsou uvedeny kladné i záporné dopady plánů Františka Jandy na současnou podobu Poděbrad. Z pozitivních dopadů jsou nejdůležitější: 1) Vytvoření základů urbanistické koncepce lázeňského města, 2) Promyšlené propojení města s okolní přírodou, 3) Uchování klidové zóny v lázeňském středu. K negativním dopadům patří: 1) Podcenění významu automobilové dopravy a jejího řešení v rámci města, 2) Přecenění významu železnice a negativní působení tělesa železniční trati ve městě.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is dealing with a history of urbanistic solution and its impact on the development of the city of Poděbrady. In the study, there are described and discussed key plans of the city by František Janda since 1910 to 1948. In each historical period of the Czech history since 1908 to the present, there is described development of the spa quarters and its building activities are illustrated. In each chapter it is evaluated how the specific period mirrored in the urbanistic evolution of the city. In the conclusions there are summarised positive and negative impacts of the urbanistic plans by František Janda to the present shape of the city. The most important positive impacts are: 1) Development of bases of urbanistic concept of the spa, 2) Coherent connection of the spa with surrounding nature, 3) Preservation of resting zone in spa centre. The most important negative impacts are: 1) Underestimation of importance of vehicular traffic and its solution in frames of the city, 2) Overestimation of the railway and negative effect of the railway in the city.
