Do Selected Labour Market Indicators of City of Prague Converge with the Average Labour Market Indicators of Czech Republic in the Years of 2005 to 2021?

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá existencí konvergence vybraných ukazatelů trhu práce v hl. m. Praze a ČR. Vybranými ukazateli jsou medián mezd, průměrná hrubá měsíční (nominální) mzda, podíl nezaměstnaných osob (roční průměry a stav k 31.12.) a počet uchazečů o zaměstnání evidovaných Úřadem práce na jedno volné pracovní místo v evidenci ÚP. Ukazatele podílu nezaměstnaných osob (roční průměry i stav k 31.12.) a počet uchazečů v evidenci Úřadu práce na jedno volné pracovní místo v evidenci ÚP v ČR a hl. m. Praze konvergují. Naopak ukazatele ceny práce, tj. medián mezd a průměrná hrubá měsíční mzda v ČR a hl. m. Praze nekonvergují. Dále jsou také analyzovány výdaje na státní politiku zaměstnanosti. Výzkum pracuje s daty dostupnými z databází Českého statistického úřadu a Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí České republiky.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse existing convergence of specific labour market indicators in Czech Republic and the capital city Prague. That is the median wage, the average gross monthly wage (nominal), the share of unemployed persons (annual averages and status as of 31st December) and the number of job applicants registered for one job vacancy, in accordance with the Labour Office records. It is found that the indicated share of unemployed persons (both annual averages and status as of 31st December) with the indicated number of job applicants registered for one job vacancy, in accordance with the Labour Office records, in Czech Republic and the capital city Prague, do in fact converge. On the contrary, the indicators of labour price, i.e. the median wage and the average gross monthly wage, in Czech republic and the capital city Prague, do not converge. Additionally, state expanses in employment policy is also analysed. The research uses data available in databases of the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Czech Republic.
