Analysis of time series of of the number of immigrants to Czech Republic in years 1954-2018

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám analýzou měsíčních časových řad počtů imigrantů do ČR od roku 1954 až do roku 2018. Data jsou k dispozici na stránkách Českého statistického úřadu (ČSÚ). Porovnávám také, z hlediska úrovně a vývojových tendencí, roční časové řady imigrantů do České republiky z různých států s časovými řadami imigrantů do Evropské unie (EU) od roku 1992. Tato data jsou k dispozici na stránkách Eurostatu. Hlavní otázkou, nad kterou se zamyslím, je, proč lidí chtějí migrovat a hlavně proč lidí migrují do České republiky.Dalším cílem práce je zjistit, zda měsíční časové řady obsahují sezónní složku, tj. jestli počet imigrantů závisí na konkrétní sezóně (na konkrétním měsíci). Budu se věnovat i analýze roční časové řady (pohybu) imigrantů ze států, které jsou hlavními zdroji migračního pohybu do České republiky (ČR).

Abstract:

In my bachelor's thesis I will deal with the analysis of monthly time series of the number of immigrants to the Czech Republic from 1954 to 2018. The data are available on the website of the Czech Statistical Office. I will compare, from the perspective of their level and development, the annual time series of immigrants to Czech Republic from different countries with the time series of imigrants to the European Union. These data are available on the Eurostat website.The main question of my thesis is why people want to migrate and more important why do they migrate to Czech Republic.Secondary aim of the thesis is to analyze if the monthly time series contain a seasonal component, ie. whether the number of immigrants depends on a specific season (calendary month). I will also focus on the analysis of annual time series of immigrants from countries with the biggest migration inflow to the Czech Republic.
