Student's Willingness to communicate in English language: The Effects of Power Inside the Classroom

Abstract:

The theme of the bachelor thesis is "Students' Willingness to communicate in English language: The Effects of Power Inside the Classroom". The aim of the thesis is to investigate to what extent the students are willing to communicate in the English language. Secondary aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent the effect of power influences the students willingness to communicate. The theoretical part provides the bases for the empirical part of the thesis. The first part deals with communication from a general point of view, communication in a classroom and communication in an English language. The second part focuses on the wide topic of willingness to communicate and willingness to communicate in an English language. In this part of the thesis you can find definitions and classifications of the willingness to communicate and the willingness to communicate in an English language. Last part is about the Effect of power inside the classroom and it is divided into two parts. These parts focus on the Effect of power from the view of both the teacher and the student. The practical part is based on a research investigation, which was realised by the questionnaire method and investigated students at the level of lower secondary school.

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je "Ochota studentů komunikovat v anglickém jazyce: Efekt moci ve třídě". Cílem práce je zjistit do jaké míry jsou studenti druhého stupně základních škol ochotni komunikovat v anglickém jazyce. Sekundárním cílem bude zjistit do jaké míry dokáže faktor moci ovlivnit ochotu studentů komunikovat ve výuce. Teoretická část představuje východiska pro empirickou část práce. První část se zabývá komunikací z obecného hlediska, komunikací ve třídě a komunikací v hodině anglického jazyka. Druhá část se soustředí na široké téma ochoty komunikace a ochoty komunikace v anglickém jazyce. V této části naleznete definice a klasifikace ochoty komunikovat a ochoty komunikovat v anglickém jazyce. Poslední část pojednává o efektu moci ve třídě a dělí se na dvě části. Tyto dvě části jsou zaměřeny na efekt moci ve třídě ze strany učitele a ze strany žáka. Praktická část je založena na výzkumném šetření, které bylo realizováno dotazníkovou metodou a zkoumalo studenty na úrovni druhého stupně základních škol.
