Abstract:
This thesis examines how the members of society in George Orwell´s 1984 and Aldous Huxley´s Brave New World view mortality and death itself by using Marxist literary theory. It analyzes how religion, social class and the political regime influence their perception of the concept of mortality. In this thesis I examine the characters´ understanding and acceptance of death. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice toho, jak lidé ve společnostech románů George Orwella 1984 a Zánik civilizace Aldouse Huxleyho pohlíží na smrtelnost a smrt za použití marxistické literární teorie. Práce analyzuje jak náboženství, sociální třídy a politické režimy ovlivňují vnímání smrtelnosti. V této práci analyzuji jejich chápání a přijetí smrti.
