Analysis of atmospheric signal attenuation to develop transport telecommunications with help of Aldo - Alphasat experiment

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na zpracování dat z družice Alphasat a jejich následné využití pro tvorbu nových stanic. Ke sběru dat jsou využívány přijímací stanice Alphasat v Akademii věd ČR v Praze pro kmitočty v pásmech 20 GHz a 40 GHz. Konkrétně jsou analyzovány očekávané útlumy deštěm, vodními parami a oblaky. V práci je také uveden postup, jak ze zaznamenaného signálu z družice, který je kolísavý nejen vlivem stavu atmosféry, ale také vlivem prostorové nestability družice, vyseparovat samotný atmosférický útlum, který je předmětem širokého celosvětového výzkumu s ohledem na racionální plánování družicových spojů. Součástí práce je i přehled stávajícího stavu telekomunikací v ČR.

Abstract:

This master thesis focuses on data processing from satellite Alphasat and their further using for developing of the new stations. For data collecting are used the receiver stations Alphasat at The Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague for frequencies in the bands 20 GHz and 40 GHz. Specifically, the expected attenuations by rain, water vapor and clouds are analyzed. The work also describe the procedure how, from the received signal from the satellite, which is fluctuating not only due to the state of the atmosphere, but also due to the spatial instability of satellites, extract the actual atmospheric attenuation, which is, with the respect to the rational planning of satellite links, the subject of extensive global research. The thesis also includes the brief overview of the current state of telecommunications in the Czech Republic.
