Antifascist Action and Workers' Party: Comparative Analysis of Political Discourses

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá kritickou analýzou politických diskursů, jejichž „uživateli“, reprezentanty jsou dvě radikální politická uskupení: Antifašistická akce a Dělnická strana. Klade si za cíl určit prostřednictvím analýzy jejich textů, zda mají „jejich“ diskursy nějaké společné, respektive odlišné znaky a vlastnosti a pokud ano, tak jaké. Zaměřujeme jsme se především na ideologické pozadí diskursů, tedy na to, na jaké ideologii Antifašistická akce a Dělnická strana zakládají své názory a postoje a jakou obě politická uskupení ve svém aktivismu používají politickou rétoriku a politiku identity. Zjistili jsme, že – z hlediska kritické diskursivní analýzy – diskurs Antifašistické akce usiluje o progresivní sociální změnu, která by spočívala nejen v odstranění sociálních nerovností a v emancipaci marginalizovaných skupin, ale i v „denaturalizaci“ sociálního řádu, který tyto nerovnosti (re)produkuje a legitimizuje, a v transformaci mocenských vztahů, tedy v odstranění dominance mocenských elit a státu. Dělnická strana o takovou sociální změnu neusiluje, jde jí o to ustavit takové sociální vztahy moci a dominance, jež by zvýhodňovaly pouze jednu sociální skupinu. Případná změna řádu diskursu, kdy by se dosud marginalizovaný diskurs Dělnické strany stal dominantním, by s sebou sice nesla určité zpochybnění stávajícího sociálního řádu, nicméně lze se domnívat, že by nejenže sociální nerovnosti neodstranila, ale že by je naopak ještě prohloubila, navíc by nevedla ani k emancipaci těch, kteří jsou ve stávajícím řádu utlačováni. „Její“ diskurs by tak sice transformoval mocenské vztahy, ale nežádoucím způsobem.

Abstract:

This final thesis deals with critical discourse analysis of political discourses, which are represented by two radical political organizations: Antifascist Action and Worker’s Party. It is aimed to detected through the analysis of their text, if „their“ discourses have some shared or different signs and features and, eventually, which they are. We are focused especially on ideological background of the discourses, in other words on a detecting ideology, political rhetoric and identity politics of discourse of Antifascist Action and Workers‘ Party, which influence their opinions and attitudes. We made out that – from a perspective of critical discourse analysis – discourse of Antifascist Action is aimed on progressive social change, which means that it wants to despatch social inequalities and emancipate marginalized groups as well as to „denaturalise“ social order, which (re)produces and legitimizes this inequalities, and to transform power relationships, in other words to despatch dominance of power elites and state. In comparison with it, Worker’s Party does not want such a social change; it wants to establish such social relationships of power and dominance, which would advantage only one social group. Contingent change of the order of discourse would bring any impeachment of status quo, but we mean that it would not imply an elimination of social inequalities, more to the contrary it would imply cavity of them, moreover it would not lead to emancipation of marginalized people and groups. „Its“ political discourse would transform power relationships, but in undesirable way.
