Abstract:

Viscum album L., známé jako evropské jmelí, je hemiparazitická rostlina, která dokáže extrahovat vodu a živiny ze svého hostitele prostřednictvím haustoria, což vede ke stresu hostitele. Tato studie zkoumá dynamiku toku mízy a růstového vzorce V. album a jeho hostitelské malé levé Lípy (Tilia cordata) na úrovni stromu a větve (s podobnými rozměry) pomocí senzorů toku mízy a dendrometrů". Průměrné denní průtoky mízy byly u napadené skupiny výrazně vyšší než kontrolní během první poloviny vegetačního období, s průměrným celkovým relativním průtokem mízy 1032,2±211,6 %. v zamořené skupině a 935,2±257,5% v kontrolní skupině, i když nevýznamné. Kumulativní tempo růstu v napadené skupině bylo nižší než v kontrolní skupině, proto bylo prokázáno významné snížení intenzity napadení v celkovém růstu během vegetačního období (p<0,048). Příčinou snížení růstu byla nízká regulace vodivosti stomat jmelí, což vede ke zvýšené transpiraci a následnému vodnímu namáhání hostitele, což ovlivňuje zvýšení průtoku mízy v napadených stromech.

Abstract:

Viscum album L., known as European mistletoe, is a hemiparasitic plant that can extract water and nutrients from its host through haustorium, leading to stress in the host. This study examines the sap flow and growth pattern dynamics of V. album and its host small-leaved lime trees (Tilia cordata) at the tree and branch level (with similar dimensions), using the sap flow sensors and dendrometers. The average daily sap flow rates were significantly higher for the infested group than the control ones during the first half of the growing season, with an average total relative sap flow of 1032.2±211.6 %. in the infested group and 935.2±257.5% in the control group, though insignificant. The cumulative growth rate in the infested group was lower than in the control group, therefore the significant decrease in infestation intensity in total growth during the growing season was proved (p<0.048). The cause of the reduction of the growth was the low regulation in stomata conductance of the mistletoe, which leads to increased transpiration and subsequent water stress of the host, thus affecting in increase the sap flow rate in infested trees.
