Loss of the Homeland in Literary Texts

Abstract:

This thesis follows the life and work of Sudeten German writer Josef Mühlberger. The thesis is divided to the six main parts. The topic is introduced in the prologue, which is followed by the second chapter, which explains the origin and evolution of the term of Sudetenland. The next chapter deals with the term of homeland and the perception of this term over time. The fourth part, which is named Der Schriftsteller Josef Mühlberger, is devoted to the life and work of this writer in the general context. The main part of my thesis is the fifth chapter, which follows Mühlberger's works ?Die Knaben und der Fluss? and ?Wo ich daheim war?. After a short interpretation of these works follows his opinion with the perception of the homeland incorporated. How Mühlberger perceives his native land, the Bohemia, is displayed in both of these works. In the end I compare the presence of each elements of homeland in both books, because there is an evidence of some differences in perception of this term.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá životem a dílem sudetoněmeckého spisovatele Josefa Mühlbergra. Práce je rozdělena do šesti hlavních části. Téma je představeno v úvodu, na který navazuje druhá kapitola, která osvětluje původ a vývoj pojmu sudety. Další kapitola se zabývá pojmem vlast a vnímáním tohoto pojmu v průběhu času. Čtvrtá část pojmenována Der Schriftsteller Josef Mühlberger se věnuje životu a dílu tohoto spisovatele v obecných souvislostech. Hlavní částí mé práce je pátá kapitola, která se zabývá Mühlbergrovými díly ?Die Knaben und der Fluss? a ?Wo ich daheim war?. Po krátké interpretaci těchto děl se jim dále věnuji z pohledu vnímání vlasti. Jak Mühlberger vnímá svou původní vlast, tedy Čechy se zrcadlí v obou těchto dílech. Na závěr srovnávám výskyt jednotlivých elementů vlasti v obou knihách, neboť jsou u Mühlbergera patrné určité nuance ve vnímání tohoto pojmu.
