Analysis of the current situation and horse performance in endurance competitions in Czech Republic and in the world

Abstract:

Cílem této studie bylo zhodnocení aktuální situace a vývoj koní v soutěžích vytrvalosti v České republice a ve světě dle faktoru věku, pohlaví, roku startu a plemene. Základ tvořila databáze z vytrvalostních žebříčků let 2020, 2021 a 2022 ČJF (Česká jezdecká federace) a FEI (Mezinárodní jezdecká federace), kterou jsme následně statisticky zpracovávali. Pro tuto databázi byl vysoce průkazný vliv roku startu a věku koní, faktor plemene vyšel jako statisticky průkazný a faktor pohlaví nebyl statisticky průkazný. Nejlepších výsledků dosahuje skupina koní ve věku 15-17 let (71,68 bodů), nejúspěšnějším pohlavím jsou valaši (65,23 bodů) a nejvýkonnější jsou koně plemene Shagya araba (73,51 bodů), což nám potvrdilo i následné testování metodou Scheffeho testu. Výkonnost koní se v průběhu tří let mírně zvýšila. Totožnou metodikou byla provedena analýza databáze vytrvalostních žebříčků ČJF. V této databázi vyšel vysoce průkazný pouze faktor rok startu a statisticky průkazný vliv věku, což lze přisoudit málopočetné populaci vytrvalostních koní v České republice. Výsledky analýzy žebříčků ČJF značí, že nejlepších výsledků dosahují koně ve věku 9-11 let (158,57 bodů), nejúspěšnějším pohlavím jsou valaši (145,29 bodů) a nejvýkonnější jsou koně arabského plnokrevníka (171,98 bodů). Výkonnost koní v České republice se v průběhu tří let průkazně zvýšila.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to evaluate the current situation and the development of horses in endurance competitions in the Czech Republic and in the world using factors of age, sex, year of the competition and breed. The thesis was based on the databases of endurance rankings for years 2020, 2021 and 2022 published by the ČJF and FEI, which we subsequently processed statistically. A highly conclusive influence was discovered for the factors of year of the competition and age of the horses, breed factor was conclusive and sex factor was not conclusive. The best results were achieved by horses aged 15-17 years (71,68 points), the most successful are geldings (65,23 points) and the best performance is delivered by Arabian horse (73,51 %), which was also confirmed by subsequent testing using the Scheffe test. Horse performance increased slightly over the course of three years. Similar methodology was used to perform an analysis of the database of the endurance rankings by the ČJF. A highly conclusive influence was discovered only for the factor of year of the competition and factor of age was discovered conclusive, which can be attributed to the small population of endurance horses in the Czech Republic. The analysis of the endurance rankings by ČJF shows, that the best results are achieved by horses aged 9-11 years (158,57 points), the most successful are geldings (145,29 points) and the best performance is delivered by Arabian horse (171,98 points). Horse performance in Czech Republic increased conclusively over the course of three years.
