Psychedelics drugs - the rationale of their criminalization or wider use for treatment

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na představení terapeutických benefitů vybraných psychedelických látek. Teoretická část odhaluje důvody kriminalizace látek skrz historické pozadí, vymezuje legislativní rámec v rámci České republiky, charakterizuje jednotlivé látky a na základě výzkumů odhaluje terapeutické vlastnosti pro léčbu psychických poruch. Cílem praktické části je zjistit pomocí dotazníkového šetření, jaký terapeuticky potenciál může přinést dlouhodobé užívání psychedelických látek. Z výsledků vyplývá, že užívání psychedelických látek přináší pozitivní změny. Hlavní přínos práce je odhalení, že převážná část respondentů, kteří se zajímají o psychedelické látky a užívají je pravidelně, tak činí kvůli terapeutickým benefitům.

Abstract:

The work focuses on presenting the therapeutic benefits of selected psychedelic substances. The theoretical part reveals the reasons for the criminalization of these substances through historical background, defines the legislation in the Czech Republic, characterizes individual substances and reveals their therapeutic properties for the treatment of mental disorders based on research. The aim of the practical part is to find out through a questionnaire survey which therapeutic potential can be brought by long-term use of psychedelic substances. The results indicate that the use of psychedelic substances can lead to positive changes in mind. The main contribution of the work is the revelation that the vast majority of respondents, who are interested in psychedelic substances and use them regularly, do so for therapeutic benefits.
