Empty nest syndrome and his impact on the family climate

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice syndromu prázdného hnízda a jeho dopadu na rodinné klima. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí a to teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část se věnuje především vymezení pojmu syndromu prázdného hnízda, charakteristice vývojového období, ve kterém se tento syndrom objevuje což je období střední dospělosti, vymezení rodiny jako sociální skupiny, jejímu vývojovému cyklu a vztahům mezi rodiči s jejich dětmi. Další částí jsou projevy, následky a rizika spojená s hlavní problematikou celé práce, tedy syndromu prázdného hnízda. Praktická část je zaměřena na sběr dat a jejich analýzu. Analýza získaných dat probíhá za pomoci kvalitativní metody zvané zakotvená teorie, při které dochází k rozkódování podstatných úryvků dat a přímo vede k odhalení dopadů syndromu opuštěného hnízda. Cílem je zjistit dopady na rodinné klima, tedy na změny spojené s odchodem dospělých dětí a prožívání celé situace z pohledu matek dětí, které rodinu opouštějí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of empty nest syndrome and its impact on a family climate. The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals mainly with the definition of empty nest syndrome, the characteristics of the developmental period where this syndrome occurs which is a middle age period, the definition of a family as a social group, its developmental cycle and the relationships between parents and their children. Another part is about symptoms, consequences and risks associated with the main problem of the whole work empty nest syndrome. The practical part is focused on collecting data and their analysis. The analysis of the obtained data is carried out using qualitative methods called grounded theory which breaks down the significant data fragments and leads to revealing the effects of empty nest syndrome. The aim is to identify the impacts on the family climate, the changes associated with a departure of adult children and the experience of the whole situation from the point of view of mothers of children leaving the family.
