The Influence of the Liking-Kindness Evolvement on the Naturalness of Facial Expression of the Bellydancers

Abstract:

Tato studie se zabývá vlivem rozvíjení dobrotivosti na výraz a prožívání vystupujících orientálních tanečnic. Cílem studie bylo zjistit, zda praktikování meditace vyzařování dobrotivosti vede k hodnocení výrazů tanečnic jako přirozenějších, tzn. více spontánních, uvolněných a spojených s vnitřním prožitkem. Pro ověření hypotézy byl vytvořen kvantitativní design a uskutečněn experiment se 14 orientálními tanečnicemi. Výzkum byl doplněn o kvalitativní analýzu zaměřenou na prožívání, u kterého se očekával posun směrem k příjemnějším prožitkům tance. Při kvalitativní analýze byly také identifikovány faktory ovlivňující trému tanečnic a následně jejich prožívání. Při výzkumu se nepodařilo potvrdit zkoumanou hypotézu ani předpoklad kvalitativní analýzy, ale byly načrtnuty možné vztahy, které by bylo vhodné ověřit při dalším zkoumání.

Abstract:

This study adresses the impact of the loving-kindness evolvement on facial expression and experiencing of performing bellydancers. The aim of this study was to find out whether the practising of loving-kindness meditation leads to the rating the dancers‘ facial expressions as more genuine, thet means more spontaneous, relaxed and connected with internal experience. The quantitative design was designed to test the hypothesis and the experiment with 14 bellydancers was conducted. The quantitative research was supplemented by qualitative analysis focused on experiencing where shift to more pleasant dance experiences was expected. Within the qualitative analysis the factors influencing bellydancers‘ stage fright and consequently their experiencing were also identified. During the research, neither tested hypothesis nor the assumption for qualitative analysis were confirmed but there were outlined possible relations that are suitable for further research.
