The Phenomenon of Overeating in Nutritional Therapy

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývala tématem "Fenomén přejídání z pohledu nutriční terapie". V rámci teoretické části byla popsána klasifikace poruch příjmu potravy spojených s přejídáním. Práce dále přiblížila problematiku emočního jedení a závislosti na jídle. Zejména na podkladu této části vznikly edukační materiály pro odbornou i laickou veřejnost. Pro odborníky byl taktéž vytvořen návrh diagnostického schématu, jak od klienta zjistit potřebné informace Dalším cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaký vztah má česká dospělá populace k přejídání, a případně jaké skupiny osob by jím mohly být ohroženy nejvíce. Dotazníkového šetření se zúčastnilo celkem 101 respondentů, tudíž výsledky nelze aplikovat na celou populaci. Nicméně u 5 % respondentů bylo možno diagnostikovat závislost na jídle. Většina respondentů (41,6 %) se v uplynulých 12 měsících přejídala, až jim bylo fyzicky špatně, méně než 1x za měsíc. 31,7 % se takto nepřejídalo nikdy, ale zbytek respondentů se přejídal 1x měsíčně a častěji. Přítomnost jednotlivých rizikových faktorů přejídání a s ním spojených poruch byla zjištěna celkem u 6,9-56,4 % respondentů. Protože je v rámci tohoto tématu zapotřebí dalších výzkumů, tato spíše obecně pojatá práce a výzkum by mohly být zdrojem pro specifičtější výzkumy a pátrání po rizikových skupinách osob a možných příčinách přejídání.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis was "The Phenomenon of Overeating in Nutritional Therapy". The theoretical part described the classification of eating disorders associated with overeating. The thesis also described the topic of emotional eating and that of food addiction. Based on the theoretical part, the educational materials were created for the general public as well as for the professionals. A draft of the diagnostic scheme was also developed that could help professionals to elicit the necessary information from the client. The second aim was to research the relationship between the Czech adult population and overeating, and, if possible, which groups of people might be at the most risk of overeating. There was a total of 101 participants of the questionnaire, so the results cannot be generalized for the entire population. However, 5% of the respondents were diagnosed with the food addiction. The majority of respondents (41.6%) have overeaten until they felt physically sick less than once a month in the past 12 months. 31.7% have never overeaten in this way, but the rest of the respondents have overeaten once a month or more often. The occurrence of the risk factor categories for overeating and related disorders was found in a total of 6.9-56.4% of respondents. As further research is needed on this topic, this rather general overview and research could serve as a source for more specific future research and investigation of people at possible risk and of possible causes of overeating.
