Transformations of Selected Secular Chivalric Orders in the 14th and 15th Century

Abstract:

Předkládaná magisterská práce poukazuje na vztah středověké společnosti k rytířství, rozebírá problematiku světských rytířských řádu zejména z pohledu jejich kategorizace a poskytuje i detailnější rozbor kategorizace dvou vybraných řádu (Řádu zlatého rouna a Dračího řádu). Hlavním přínosem práce je však rozbor jednotlivých aspektů světských rytířských řádů, jenž je majoritně koncipován na základě rozboru statut vybraných světských rytířských řádů. Práci dovršují diplomatické a obsahové rozbory statut následujících řádů: uherský Řád svatého Jiří, aragonský Řád konvice a gryfa a rakouský Řád orla.

Abstract:

The submitted master's theses points to relationship of medieval society to the chivalry, it analysis the problematics of secular chivalric orders, especially from the view of their categorization and provides even more detailed analysis of two chosen orders (Order of the Golden Fleece and the Order of Dragon). Nevertheless, the main contribution of this work is the analysis of individual aspects of secular chivalric orders which is formed on the basis of status analysis of selected secular chivalric orders. The conclusion of the thesis contains diplomatic and content analysis of the status of the following orders: the Hungarian Order of Saint George, the Aragonese Order of the Jar and the Austrian Eagle Order.
