Nature and caving: the relationship of selected potholer active in the Moravian Karst with nature, landscape and their protection

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na speleologii jako činnost provozovanou v přírodě a krajině Moravského krasu. Teoretická část zahrnuje popis historického speleologického vztahování se ke krajině Moravského krasu, dále popisuje vývoj a mechanismy současné amatérské speleologie, včetně konfliktů speleologie a ochrany přírody, kde nejaktuálnějším tématem je spor o komerční využívání nepřístupných jeskyní Moravského krasu. Výzkumná část vychází z kvalitativně pojaté případové studie. Práce zkoumá vztah dotazovaných speleologů působících v Moravském krasu k přírodě a krajině a jejich ochraně. Speleologové cítí zodpovědnost za stav jeskyní nebo ji očekávají od orgánů státní správy či legislativy. Od ochrany přírody respondenti očekávají pochopení, že nelze objevovat nové prostory bez zasahování do současného stavu jeskynních systémů. Objevuje se i pocit výlučnosti a přivlastňovací tendence ke krasovým jevům. Pro některé respondenty má speleologie volnočasový, pro jiné celoživotní charakter, který chápe speleologii jako životní způsob. Srovnání práce se závěry bakalářské práce Zuzany Gerykové věnované vztahu horolezců k přírodě a krajině přináší shodu např. ve stylizaci dotazovaných do expertů na problematiku konfliktů ochrany přírody a speleologie/horolezectví.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on speleology as an activity carried on nature and landscape of the Moravian Karst. The theoretical part includes a description of historical speleological relationship to the landscape of the Moravian Karst, describes the development and mechanisms of contemporary amateur caving, including conflicts nature conservation and speleology, where the most recent issue is the dispute over the commercial use of inaccessible caves of the Moravian Karst. The research part is based on the quality scale case studies. The thesis explores the relationship of those speleologists active in the Moravian Karst to landscape and to nature and conservation. Speleologists feel responsible for the state of caves or expect from government authorities or legislation. Respondents expect from conservation the understanding that it is impossible to discover new areas without interfering with the current state of cave systems. There is also a sense of exclusivity and possessive tendency to karsts phenomenon. For some respondents speleology is leisure time for other whole life character who understands caving as a way of life. Comparison with the findings of thesis of Zuzana Geryková dedicated climber’s relationship to nature and landscape brings such compliance in the stylization of respondents as experts on the issue of conflict of nature protection and speleology / climbing.
