Financial or Strategic Management in the Health Care: a case study

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is dealing with the strategic management in a healthcare organization. The work is divided in two parts –theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part are characterized the strategic management, its purpose and benefits, but also the components used in strategic planning, from the planning, the implementation, the control and evaluation of objectives and strategies for a successful strategic management. In the practical part, I am analysing the strategic management of a healthcare organization based in Czech Republic. After an overview of the organization and its organizational structure, the strategic plan of the healthcare company is presented and analysed to demonstrate that whether or not health care organizations are nowadays common business entities and that strategic management shaped for health care organizations lead to a better efficiency and competitive advantage in their market environment.
