Differences Between Forensic Handwriting Examination and Graphology

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Rozdíly mezi písmoznalectvím a grafologií se věnuje míře povědomí společnosti o odlišnostech vědního oboru písmoznalectví a pseudovědecké disciplíny grafologie. Cílem práce je porovnat písmoznalectví a grafologii a zjistit úroveň znalosti této problematiky u laické veřejnosti a středoškolských a vysokoškolských pedagogů z oblasti práva, psychologie a kriminalistky. Teoretická část práce popisuje samostatně písmoznalectví i grafologii a vymezuje jejich cíle, historii, metody, problémy i hodnocení ze strany odborné veřejnosti. Závěr teoretické části obsahuje porovnání písmoznalectví s grafologií v daných oblastech. Praktická část byla vypracována na základě autorem provedeného dotazníkového šetření, které bylo sestaveno z otázek týkajících se informovanosti laické a vědecké společnosti o náležitostech a rozdílech písmoznalectví a grafologie. V závěru práce jsou formulovány návrhy na další kroky pro zvýšení informovanosti společnosti.

Abstract:

Bachelor’s thesis with the title „Differences Between Forensic Handwriting Examination and Graphology“ focuses on the extent of society’s awareness of the differences between scientific field forensic handwriting examination and pseudoscientific discipline graphology. The aim of the thesis is to compare forensic handwriting examination and graphology and to determine the level of understanding of this issue among the general public and secondary and tertiary educators in the fields of law, psychology, and criminology. The theoretical part of the thesis describes forensic handwriting examination and graphology separately, defining their objectives, history, methods, problems, and evaluation by the professional community. The conclusion of the theoretical part includes a comparison of forensic handwriting examination with graphology in the specified areas. The empirical part was developed based on a questionnaire survey conducted by the author, consisting of questions regarding the awareness of the general and scientific society about the specifics and differences of forensic handwriting examination and graphology. In the conclusion of the thesis, suggestions for further steps to increase societal awareness are formulated.
