Bernoulli Numbers

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnujeme Bernoulliovým číslům a jejich vlastnosti, které jsou popsány zejména von Staudt–Claussenovou větou a Voroného a Kummerovými kongruencemi. Dále se věnujeme Bernoulliovým polynomům a Dirichletovým charakterům. V poslední kapitole uvádíme čtenáře do teorie Dirichletových L-funkcí a zavedeme zobecněná Bernoulliova čísla. Práce je zakončena formulací Dirichletovy věty o aritmetické posloupnosti.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis, we study Bernoulli numbers and their properties which are described in particular by von Staudt–Claussen theorem and Voronoi and Kummer congruences. Subsequently, we focus on Bernoulli polynomials and Dirichlet characters. In the final chapter we introduce the reader to the theory of Dirichlet L-functions and define generalized Bernoulli numbers. The thesis is concluded by the formulation of Dirichlet's theorem on arithmetic progressions.
