The cultural needs of marginalized groups in society and their realisation

Abstract:

The work is dealing with marginalized groups on the edge of society which are very often exposed to cultural and social izolation and various forms of discrimination. In overall this includes homeless, gypsy communities living in camps on the city's outskirts , disabled citizens, children and the young, elderly people, asylum seekers, unemployed and many other people endengered by poverty and social segregation. The focus of the work lies on the first three groups with the most obvious handicap. They are usually without access to information, without possibility to make their own decisions or to participate in principles of society. The intention of this work is to show the importance of cultural development, to point out new phenomena in culture and to change opinion of socitety about the idea of dignified human life because its undetachable part is fulfillment of cultural needs and not only from the view of wide society but mainly by the eyes of involved marginalized groups.

Abstract:

Práca sa zaoberá marginalizovanými, na okraj spoločnosti vytláčanými skupinami, ktoré sú často vystavené kultúrnej a sociálnej izolácii a rôznym formám diskriminácie. V najširšom slova zmysle sem patria bezdomovci, rómske komunity žijúce v osadách alebo na mestskej periférii, zdravotne postihnutí občania, deti a mládež, starší ľudia, azylanti, nezamestnaní a ďalší ľudia ohrození chudobou a sociálnym vylúčením. Témou práce sú konkrétne prvé tri skupiny, ktorých znevýhodnenie je najzreteľnejšie. Tieto bývajú často bez prístupu k informáciám, bez možnosti rozhodovať alebo sa zúčastňovať na spoločenských zásadách. Cieľom tejto práce je poukázať na rozvoj kultúrnych potrieb, upozorniť na nové javy v kultúre a zmeniť optiku zmýšľania spoločnosti na predstavu dôstojného ľudského života, ktorého neoddeliteľnou súčasťou je i napĺňanie kultúrnych potrieb, a to nielen z pohľadu širokej verejnosti, ale hlavne z pohľadu príslušníkov okrajových skupín.
