Práce se zaměřuje na hodnocení teorií blahobytu a utopistických teorií. Reaguje na aktuálně probíhající změny v ekonomicky vyspělých zemích a zjišťuje, zda je teorie, popř. její aspekty, schopná tyto změny vysvětlit a zda dokáže věrohodně předvídat budoucí úroveň společenského blahobytu.
