Fenomonology of religion - saint persons: Saint Francis of Assisi

Abstract:

Svatý František, František z Assisi, světec z Assisi, prosťáček z Assisi a mnohá další pojmenování patří duchovnímu otci největší řeholní rodiny na světě, zakladateli tří františkánských řádů (františkáni, klarisky a terciáři), který byl v roce 1939 prohlášen patronem Itálie a později také patronem ekologie. Záměrem bylo podrobně rozebrat Františkův život a představit ho jako muže s evangelijním duchem pokory a chudoby, jehož cílem bylo vytvořit nový způsob života a ten pak dále šířit mezi lidi. Důležitou roli v jeho životě hrálo přesvědčení, že ho vede sám Ježíš Kristus. Díky němu vytvořil František svou řeholi, kterou následně předával druhým. Ta byla později přizpůsobována i pro jiné jazyky, neustále interpretována novými členy řádu, předávána do jiných kultur a v důsledcích toho pak docházelo k její přeměně až do podoby, kterou známe dnes. Život svatého Františka mě zaujal natolik, že jsem s velkou chutí sbírala, vyhledávala a shromažďovala informace, které se ho týkají. Objevila jsem mnoho různých zdrojů informujících o samotném Františkovi, ale i o svaté Kláře a v neposlední řadě také o jeho řádech. Zároveň jsem ocenila možnost osobní návštěvy mezi bratry františkány, kteří mi pomohli pochopit praktickou činnost řádu a vysvětlili mi některé nejasnosti. S přibývajícími znalostmi jsem se začala v tématu mé bakalářské práce lépe orientovat a zjistila jsem, že toto téma je velice obšírné a láká mě ke zpracování i dalších témat s Františkem souvisejících.

Abstract:

Saint Francis, Francis of Assisi, the Saint from Assisi, the little poor man of Assisi and many more. These are the many names that belong to the spiritual father of the biggest monastic family in the world, the founder of three Franciscan orders (the Franciscans, Poor Clares and Third order) and who was pronounced the patron Saint of Italy in 1939 and later on, the patron saint of ecology. My intention was to examine Francis' life in detail and introduce him as a man with an evangelical heart, a proponent of living an existence of humility and poverty and whose aim was to create and spread a new way of life among the people. His conviction, that he was lead by Jesus Christ, played an important part in his life. Thanks to this conviction he created his order, which he then subsequently passed to others. It was adapted to other languages, constantly interpreted by new members of the order and handed to different cultures, which resulted in its transformation into the present form. I found Saint Francis's life so interesting that I have enthusiastically collected, searched and gathered all the information related to him. Through this, I have found that there are many sources of information, not only concerning Francis himself, but also about Saint Claire and the orders that he founded. I also appreciated having had the opportunity to personally visit the Franciscans. They helped me to understand the day-to-day activities of the order and explained some of the misunderstandings that other people have about them. The more knowledge I gathered, the better I began to understand the topic of my Bachelor's thesis and in the process, found out just how very extensive this topic is. Furthermore, it has inspired me to search out even more information on the subject of Saint Francis.
