Revenue analysis within the scope of IFRS and Czech accounting principles

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje přístup k vykazování výnosů z hlavní činnosti podniku z hlediska českých účetních předpisů a Mezinárodních standardů účetního výkaznictví, které konkrétně upravuje IFRS 15 – Výnosy ze smluv se zákazníky. Hlavním cílem této práce je porovnat přístupy obou zmíněných úprav k problematice výnosů a jejich rozdílný přístup či dopad v praktické části na ilustrativních příkladech demonstrovat. Z teoretické části práce i z ilustrativních příkladů je patrná nedostatečná úprava výnosů v pojetí českých účetních předpisů, a to jak v rámci vymezení výnosů, tak i úpravy některých typů transakcí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis analyses the approach of revenue reporting from ordinary activities in terms of Czech generally accepted accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards, namely the standard IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers. The main goal of this thesis is to compare both abovementioned approaches towards revenues and to demonstrate the different approach or impact on illustrative examples. The theoretical part of this thesis, as well as the illustrative examples, show an insufficient revenue treatment in terms of Czech accounting principles, both in terms of definition, and the treatment of several types of transactions.
