Knowledge organization in gender studies from the domain-analytical perspective

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou organizace vědění v doméně gender studies. Cílem práce je přiblížit z hlediska doménově-analytického přístupu gender studies knihovníkům a knihovnicím, kteří navrhují nebo hodnotí systém pro organizaci vědění v této doméně. Součástí práce je doménová analýza gender studies, která se zaměřuje na sociální, teoretické a epistemologické aspekty organizace vědění v doméně. Práce dále nabízí shrnutí některých feministických kritik stávajících selekčních jazyků, používaných tradičně v informačních studiích a knihovnictví, a ukázky pěti různých způsobů klasifikace a organizace gender studies. Práce dále shrnuje důležité body pro organizaci této domény z hlediska doménové analýzy.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis focus on some problems with knowledge organization and gender studies. The aim of this thesis is to approach this domain from the domainanalytical point of view. In doing so it should serve to librarians interested in an organization, design and evaluation of knowledge organization systems in gender studies. The first part of this work is the domain analysis that focus on social, theoretical and epistemological aspects of knowledge organization in domain. In the second part, feminist critique of traditional knowledge organization systems is introduced. Five ways of knowledge organization systems are shown in the third part. The work also proposes some important points for knowledge organization in the field from domain-analytic point of view.
