Bazálním liniím Apicomplexa není v současnosti věnována příliš velká pozornost, jelikož jejich zástupci nejsou považováni za ekonomicky nebo medicínsky významné. The early branching lineages of Apicomplexa are not given much attention due to the low economical and medical significance of their representatives. However, they are essential for understanding the phylogeny and biology of Apicomplexa in general.
