Riding the autism: indications and treatment of equestrian Rehabilitation in children with autism.

Abstract:

Autism is a disorder of the neurodevelopment, which is characterised by the impairment of the social interaction and by deficits in the verbal and non verbal communication, which causes limited interests and repetitive behaviours. Parents usually notice the first signs of autism within the first two years of the child's life, and a sure diagnosis can often be made within the first 30 months of life. The causes of this disorder are at present still unknown, and they are divided into innate neurobiological causes and acquired causes, related to psychology and environment. Given the variety of symptoms and the complexity of a clinical coherent and unitary definition, it is common nowadays to speak about ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders), which include a series of pathologies or disorders, which have in common the above-mentioned behavioral characteristics, although on different levels or degrees of intensity.

Abstract:

L'autismo ? un disturbo del neurosviluppo caratterizzato dalla compromissione dell'interazione sociale e da deficit della comunicazione verbale e non verbale che provoca ristrettezza d'interessi e comportamenti ripetitivi. I genitori di solito notano i primi segni entro i due anni di vita del bambino e la diagnosi certa spesso pu? essere fatta entro i trenta mesi di vita. Attualmente risultano ancora sconosciute le cause di tale manifestazione, divise tra cause neurobiologiche costituzionali e psicoambientali acquisite. Data la variet? di sintomatologie e la complessit? nel fornirne una definizione clinica coerente e unitaria, ? recentemente invalso l'uso di parlare pi? correttamente di Disturbi dello Spettro Autistico ( in inglese ASD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders), comprendendo tutta una serie di patologie o sindromi aventi come denominatore comune le suddette caratteristiche comportamentali, sebbene a vari gradi o livelli di intensit?.
