Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on a portrait that is without any doubts one of the best-known genres of fine arts and had always had an honourable spot in the history of art. This thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with basic portrait terms which are defined and clarified. In the individual chapters, we learn about changes of the portrait over the course of time as well as about the most famous portraitists. The last chapter is devoted to a human face from the psychological point of view. The practical part contains a series of seven canvas portraits painted with the pastel method. The chosen paintings are very expressive, full of colour. We focused on capturing characteristic expressions of portraited people who were close to the author, which is revealed in the name of the thesis itself ? Around Me. The goal of the practical part was, with the help of the portraits, to focus the attention of the viewer in a way that he or she sees human faces as a source of inspiration, the depiction of uniqueness, but most of all, as a mirror of people's soul and personality.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca je zameraná na portrét, žáner, ktorý nepochybne patrí medzi tie najznámejšie vo výtvarnom umení a v dejinách umenia mu vždy patrilo čestné miesto. Práca pozostáva z teoretickej a praktickej časti. V teoretickej časti práce sú definované a objasnené základné pojmy týkajúce sa témy portrétu. V jednotlivých kapitolách sa tiež dozvedáme o premenách portrétu v priebehu histórie ako aj o najznámejších portrétistoch. Záverečná kapitola sa zaoberá ľudskou tvárou z hľadiska psychológie. Praktickú časť práce tvorí séria siedmych portrétnych malieb na sololitových doskách maľovaných technikou pastelu. Jednotlivé obrazy sú veľmi expresívne, plné farieb, pričom sme kládli dôraz na zachytenie typických výrazov portrétovaných osôb z okolia autora, čo prezrádza aj samotný názov práce ? Okolo mňa. Cieľom bakalárskej práce v praktickej časti bolo pomocou portrétnych malieb upriamiť pozornosť diváka na ľudskú tvár ako na zdroj inšpirácie, zobrazenie jedinečnosti, ale predovšetkým však ako na zrkadlo duše a osobnosti človeka.
