Social robots in the context of the theory of interactivity focused on the human–robot interaction: State of the art

Abstract:

Cílem této magisterské práce je podat hlubší vhled do tematiky pojící se se sociální robotikou a vztahem mezi člověkem a robotem. Zároveň si práce klade za cíl představit tři vybrané sociální roboty, jako formu případových studií. První část práce je věnována metodologii a zaobírá se termíny jako je robot, sociální robot a interakce mezi člověkem a robotem (HRI). Na termín robota a robotiky je zde pohlíženo především z historického hlediska, přičemž pojem sociální robot je následovně podroben hlubší analýze. Kapitola věnována sociálnímu robotovi se tedy kromě nastínění různých definic pojmu zaobírá taktéž klasifikací těchto robotů, a to především z pohledu na základě vzhledu či účelu. Následující kapitola věnující se interakci člověka a robota (HRI) se kromě předání informací o historickém vývoji této disciplíny snaží taktéž zaměřit na rozbor jednotlivých faktorů, které ovlivňují vztah mezi robotem a člověkem. Druhá část práce je zaměřená na rozbor třech konkrétních sociálních robotů. Zvolenými roboty se stal humanoidní robot Pepper, zoomorfní robot Paro a android Harmony. Daný výběr pramenil ze snahy předat komplexnější vhled do tematiky sociálních robotů. Každý z robotů byl představen z bližšího hlediska, mapující výrobu, provozní požadavky, vzhled, využití a interakci mezi člověkem a daným robotem. Závěr práce se snaží na základě všech v práci zmíněných informací a studií uzavřít tuto tematiku a pokusit se z ní vyvodit jakým pravděpodobným směrem bude začleňování těchto sociálních robotů probíhat.

Abstract:

The purpuse of this master thesis is to provide an deeper insight into a social robot problematics and a relationship between a robot and a human. As well as this work strives to introduce three chosen social robots such a form of case studies. The first part is dedicated to the metodology and analyze the terms such as robot, social robot and interaction between the robot and the human (HRI). The aim to look on this term of robot and robotics is taken mainly from the historical point of view whereas the therm of a social robot is later submitted to a more thorough analysis. The chapter devoted to a social robot is dealing also with a different status and definitions as well as a clasifications of this robots mainly from the look and a purpose of view. The following chapter which is mapping the interaction between a robot and a human (HRI) mainly focus on exchange of information about the historical evolution of this subject and analyze of particular factors which influence a relationship between a robot and a human. The second part of this thesis is aimed to analyse three concrete social robots. The chosen one has been a humanoid robot called Pepper, a zoomorphic robot called Paro and an android called Harmony.The source for this choice originated from endeavor to provide a complex overview of this theme of social robots. Each robot was introduced from a closer perspective to show its production, requirements, design, usage and interaction between a person and a particular robot. The end of this thesis summarize among all above mentioned information and trying to close this problematics and anticipate the possible direction for each robots in future.
