This thesis compares the Czech and German version of the Jaroslav Rudiš´ book Grandhotel. It is divided into four parts. The first part is dedicated to the author, to his life and to his other works. Tato práce porovnává českou a německou verzi knihy Jaroslava Rudiše Grandhotel. Je rozdělena do čtyř částí. První část je věnována autorovi, jeho životě a dalších jeho dílům. Druhá překladatelce Evě Profousové, jejímu životu a knihám, které přeložila. Ve třetí části je rozebrán obsah knihy Grandhotel, jeho hlavní postavy, jazyk a styl knihy.
