Les Misérables - The way from book of Victor Hugo to musical version of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zmapovat cestu legendárního díla francouzského spisovatele Victora Huga Bídníci od prvního vydání románu po muzikálové a filmové adaptace. Nahlíží na tvorbu Victora Huga a zkoumá, jak spisovatel ovlivnil společnost své doby a jak společnost ovlivnila jeho tvorbu. Dále zjišťuje, jak Hugovu tvorbu ovlivnil nastupující umělecký směr romantismus. Zaměřuje se na román Bídníci, jeho muzikálovou verzi i filmové adaptace. Popisuje příběh a zkoumá rozdíly mezi jednotlivými uměleckými styly. Samostatná kapitola se věnuje uvedením Bídníků v České republice se zaměřením na brněnskou verzi.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to follow the legendary French story about the escaped convict from the original novel to the film and musical alternations. It looks into Victor Hugo´s creations and examines how Victor Hugo influenced France in the 19. Century and how the society influenced him and his work. It further investigates how was his work influenced by the emerging art movement – romanticism. It aim on novel Les Miserables, his musical vision and film alternations. It describes the story and find out the differences between every styles. A separate charter deals with the introduction of Les Misérables in Czech republic, aiming on the version of Brno theatre.
