Preconceptions of pupils at primary school about insect life

Abstract:

Diplomová práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaké mají žáci 1. stupně ZŠ prekoncepty o životě hmyzu. V teoretické části se zabýváme vymezením základních pojmů a využíváním prekonceptů v edukačním prostředí. Empirická část práce je zaměřena kvalitativně. Prostřednictvím dvou výzkumných metod - interview a pojmového mapování jsme zjistili, jaké mají žáci prekoncepty o životě včely a mravence, ale také jejich strukturu. Zjištění dále porovnáváme v diskusní části s dostupnými zahraničními studiemi a také jsou doplněny o doporučení pro využití v praxi.

Abstract:

The master's thesis has a theoretical-empirical nature. Its aim is to examine the preconceptions primary school students have about insect life. The theoretical part defines basic concepts and explores the utilization of preconceptions in educational settings. The empirical section employs qualitative methods, specifically interviews and concept mapping, to uncover students' preconceptions about the lives of bees and ants, as well as their underlying structures. These findings are subsequently compared in the discussion section with available foreign studies and supplemented with recommendations for practical application.
