Developing social work with an emphasis on increasing its prestige in the Moravian region

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaké faktory vnímají pracovníci sociální práce v Moravskoslezském kraji jako důležité ve vztahu ke zvýšení prestiže sociální práce. Sociální práce má bohatou historii, dlouhodobě usiluje o uznání coby klíčové pomáhající profese, snahou je proto zachytit její vývoj, ale také současný stav sociální práce, nové výzvy a vnímání rozvoje sociální práce z pohledu jednotlivých pracovníků vykonávajících sociální práci, jejich pohled na budoucnost sociální práce. Sociální práce není jen "o konání dobra", je nutné podtrhnout její autonomii, zdůraznit její pozici jako samostatné disciplíny. Stejně jako se vyvíjí různá odvětví ať průmyslu, zdravotní péče, zemědělství apod., je i v organizacích sociálních služeb nutná profesionalizace a inovace. Teoretická část je rozdělena do třech základních kapitol. První kapitole se věnuje sociální práci z pohledu jejího vymezení, historie, sociální práce jako profese a přiblížení současného stavu sociální práce. Druhá kapitola přibližuje prestiž sociální práce, její status, profesní stigma a zaměřuje se na modernizaci sociální práce. Třetí kapitola pojednává o možných nových výzvách pro sociální práci, jako jsou profesní organizace, kvalita, kritická sociální práce a reflexivita. Výzkumná část je zpracována kvalitativní výzkumnou strategií, byla zvolena metoda zakotvené teorie a technika polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Výsledkem práce je identifikace faktorů jako legislativní ukotvení sociální práce, podpora státu, snížení byrokracie, odborná profesní příprava, důraz na výběr sociálních pracovníků s ohledem na jejich osobnostní nastavení, vznik profesních organizací, vhodně zacílená medializace, posilování profesní hrdosti, adekvátní finanční ohodnocení, kvalita sociální práce a rozvoj inovací, které vnímají pracovníci sociální práce v Moravskoslezském kraji jako důležité ve vztahu ke zvýšení prestiže sociální práce.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to find out what factors the social work workers perceive in the Moravian -Silesian Region as important in relation to increasing the prestige of social work. Social work has a rich history, it has long sought to recognize as a key helping profession, so the effort is to capture its development, but also the current state of social work, new challenges and perception of social work from the perspective of individual workers performing social work, their view of the future of social work. Social work is not just "about good", it is necessary to underline her autonomy, emphasize her position as independent disciplines. Just as different sectors develop, whether industry, health care, agriculture, etc.and innovation. The theoretical part is divided into three basic chapters. The first chapter is devoted to social work in terms of its definition, history, social work as a profession and approaching the current state of social work. The second chapter closer to the prestige of social work, its status, professional stigma and focuses on the modernization of social work. The third chapter discusses possible new challenges for social work such as professional organizations, quality, critical social work and reflexivity. The research part is elaborated by a qualitative research strategy, the method of grounded theory and the technique of semi-structured interview were chosen. The result of the thesis is the identification of factors such as legislative anchoring of social work, state support, reduction of bureaucracy, professional training, emphasis on the selection of social workers with regard to their personal settings, the emergence of professional organizations, appropriately targeted media coverage, strengthening professional pride, adequate financial remuneration, quality of social work and the development of innovations that social work workers in the Moravian-Silesian Region perceive as important in relation to increasing the prestige of social work.
