Burnout syndrome in the teaching profession

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou syndromu vyhoření. První část obsahuje informace získané studiem odborné literatury, které se týkají vymezení pojmu syndrom vyhoření, jeho příčinami i příznaky. Součástí jsou rozdíly mezi vyhořením, stresem a depresí. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou věnovány také vývojovým fázím vyhoření, jeho diagnostice, léčbě a možnostem prevence. Závěr teoretické části je věnován syndromu vyhoření v pomáhající profesi a poté konkrétněji u profese učitelské. Praktická část práce představuje výzkum provedený na pěti školách, který informuje o tom, kteří pedagogové jsou syndromem vyhoření nejvíce vyhořeni. Cílem celé práce je shrnutí této problematiky do jednoho celku, který by mohl posloužit jako zdroj informací pro zájemce o toto téma.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the burnout syndrome. In the first part, there is information from the specialized literature that relates to definition of the term burnout, its causes and symptoms. A part is differences among burnout, stress and depression. Individual chapters also deal with developmental phases, diagnoses, treatment and possibilities of prevention. The end of the theoretical part dedicates to burnout syndrome in the helping profession and then in the teaching profession more concretely. Practical part presents a research made in five schools that informs about pedagogues who are endangered by the burnout the most. The aim of the thesis is to summarize this issues as a whole that could serve as a source of information for interested people in this topic.
