This bachelor's thesis provides a complex description of the Shakespearean Festival at the National Theatre in Prague in 1916 and it is focused on the reception of the festival in period reviews. At the beginning the reader learns basic information about the Great War and what events preceded it as well as about its course in Bohemia. Tato bakalářská práce poskytuje detailní popis Shakespearovského cyklu v Národním divadle v Praze v roce 1916 a je zaměřena na recepci festivalu v dobových recenzích. V úvodu se čtenář dozví základní informace o první světové válce a jaké události jí předcházely, stejně jako se dozví o jejím průběhu v Čechách.
