Culture and the folklore of childern. Chapters on childern's entertainment and contemporary, mainly oral folklore of childern in Moravia

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá kulturou a zejména folklorem současných školních dětí. Vychází z terénních výzkumů autorky zejména z osmdesátých a devadesátých letech 20. století. Hlavním cílem šetření bylo zjistit, jaké místo zaujímá vyprávění folklorní povahy v životě nejmladší generace. Výzkum ukázal, že kultura dětí je otevřená a mnohovrstevnatá oblast, která přijímá různé podněty z vnějšího světa. Dětská kultura obsahuje jevy tradiční lidové kultury a jevy nové, přechodné a módní. Přirozeným prostředím pro přímou komunikaci a slovesný folklor jsou dětské vrstevnické skupiny a školní třídy. Živé a variabilní jsou zejména krátké útvary/žánry – vtipy nebo hádanky, slovní hříčky, ale také horory. Slovesná kultura dětí je prostoupena humorem a humorným viděním světa s narůstající mírou absurdity a černého humoru.

Abstract:

This work is devoted to folklore and the culture of schoolchildren. It is based on the author’s field research, carried out mostly during the 1980s and 1990s in urban and rural areas of Moravia. The work looks at the free time of children, the environment of play, and the entertainment, games, and customs in the life of children. The main goal of the study was to find out what place the spoken word, or narratives of folklorish nature, have in the lives of the youngest generation. The study showed that the culture of children is an open and multi-layered area, which receives various inputs from the outside world. Children’s culture contains traditional phenomena of archaic nature and long-term oral heritage as well as phenomena that are transient and come in and out of fashion. Narration and the spoken work among children is applied as an integrating element, while at the same time it is type of entertainment not offered by artificial mass culture. The oral culture of children is imbued with humor and a humorous view of the world, with a growing degree of absurdity and black humor.
