Security analysis of RC4 stream cipher

Abstract:

This thesis concerns stream ciphers and especially about security of RC4 cipher. The first part should provide the reader with an idea of behaviour of stream ciphers and keystream generation of stream ciphers. Further, the thesis contains description of RC4 cipher and its security analysis. In the last part practical applications of the RC4 cipher and the way they are using RC4 cipher is described. Within the thesis an exemplar implementation of some attacks on RC4 cipher was created.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa zaoberá problematikou prúdových šifier a najmä bezpečnosťou šifry RC4. Prvá časť by čitateľovi mala poskytnúť predstavu o fungovaní prúdových šifier a o tom, ako môžu vytvárať keystream. Ďalej sa práca podrobnejšie zaoberá šifrou RC4 a jej bezpečnostnou analýzou. V poslednej časti sú popísane praktické aplikácie šifry RC4 a spôsob ako šifru používajú. V rámci práce vznikla aj ukážková implementácia niektorých útokov na RC4.
