Imperfections of the body

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tělem a jeho nedokonalostmi. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. V teoretické časti se věnuji všeobecně lidskému tělu v umění. Zabývám se stručně tělesností a ideálem krásy v historii. Zaměřuji se na zkoumání figury v rámci fotografie, malby a kresby. Analyzuji význam figury v uměleckém vyjádření a její roli. V praktické části mé práce se pokouším vyjádřit vizuální problematiku nedokonalostí ženského těla pomocí akrylové malby na plátno.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the body and its imperfections. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I deal with the human body in art in general. I deal briefly with corporeality and the ideal of beauty in history. I focus on the exploration of the figure within photography, painting and drawing. I analyze the importance of the figure in artistic expression and its role. In the practical part of my thesis, I attempt to express the visual issue of the imperfections of the female body through acrylic painting on canvas.
