E-learning from the Perspective of the Operation Employees in the CD Cargo Company

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit pohled provozních zaměstnanců společnosti ČD Cargo na e-learning. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část práce se nejprve zabývá zasazením konceptu e-learningu do současné společnosti a diskutováno je také jeho vymezení, formy či technologie, které jej podporují. Práce se dále věnuje evaluaci e learningu s důrazem na jeho hodnocení z hlediska studujících jedinců. Hlavním záměrem práce je zodpovědět otázku, jakým způsobem vnímají e-learning provozní zaměstnanci dané společnosti. Ke zjištění odpovědi byla použita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Empirická část práce nejprve popisuje stávající systém vzdělávání provozních zaměstnanců a vychází přitom z obsahové analýzy firemních dokumentů a rozhovorů se zástupci personálního oddělení. Pro zjištění pohledu provozních zaměstnanců na e-learning byla použita metoda hloubkových rozhovorů, na základě kterých byla určena hlavní témata výzkumné zprávy. Výstupem diplomové práce je diskuse výsledků výzkumu v kontextu současného poznání, limity výzkumu a náměty na jeho další rozvoj ve společnosti ČD Cargo.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to find out the views of the operation employees of the CD Cargo company on e learning. The thesis is divided to theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is first dealing with e-learning in the context of today´s society and discusses its definition, forms and supportive technologies. Furthermore the thesis presents the possibilities of e-learning evaluation with an emphasis on the evaluation from the learner´s point of view. The main objective of the thesis is to respond the question of how operation employees perceive e learning in their company. To state the answer, qualitative research strategy was used. The empirical part first maps the current system of operation employee education and is based on the content analysis of company´s document files and interviews with the representatives of human resources department. To find out the perspective of operation employees on e learning, in-depth interview method was used and its results construct the main themes of the research report. The output of the thesis is a discussion of research results in the context of today´s knowledge, limits of the research and suggestions for its further development in the CD Cargo company.
