Actual and potential vegetation on abandoned fields of Znojmo region

Abstract:

Intenzifikace zemědělství, především scelování pozemků do širokých lánů a absence remízků, měla za následek pokles biodiverzity. Tento fakt vedl k vymizení hmyzu z krajiny, jímž se ptáci a drobní savci živí. Jedním z možných způsobů udržení stability rostlinných společenstev, a tím i fauny, je využívání úhorů v ochraně přírody. Disturbance rozoráním homogenní travino-bylinné vegetace dá prostor jednoletým rostlinným druhům, které by v hustě zapojeném porostu nemohly vzejít. Sběr dat pro tuto studii byl prováděn v rozmezí let 2019 a 2020 na 12 lokalitách, které jsou různě rozptýlené po Národním parku Podyjí. Na každé lokalitě jsou používány tři různé typy managementu. Jedná se o pokus, kdy je pozemek rozdělen do tří pásů (A, B, C) a každý pás je obhospodařován jiným způsobem. Na začátku experimentu byly na všech lokalitách pásy A, B zorány, pás C je nezorán a ponechán jako kontrola. V pásu A je prováděna každoroční orba, pás B je ponechán ladem (úhor) a pás C je obhospodařován jako louka. V každém pásu byly provedeny fytocenologické zápisy, a to v červnu a srpnu 2020, a odebrány půdní vzorky pro stanovení semenné banky (na podzim 2019 a na jaře 2020). Klíčící pokus probíhal po dobu jednoho roku v nevytápěném skleníku. Během této doby byly determinovány a počítány vzešlé semenáčky z půdních vzorků, tedy z půdní semenné banky.

Abstract:

The intensification of agriculture has resulted in a decline of biodiversity, mainly the uniting of land into vast fields and the absence of groves. This fact has led to the extinction of insects from the landscape so birds and small mammals cannot be fed by them. One of the possible ways to maintain the stability of plant communities, and so fauna, is the using of abandoned fields in nature conservation. A disturbance by plowing homogeneous grass-herbaceous vegetation leaves a space to annual plant species that could not otherwise grow in densely involved vegetation. The goal of the work is to point out the differences among specific types of management, and to highlight the positive impact of abandoned fields in the agricultural landscape. Collecting of data for this study was carried out between 2019 and 2020 at 12 localities, which are distributed around the Podyjí National Park. Three types of management are used at each site. It is an experiment where the land is divided into three belts and each one is managed in a different way. At the beginning of the experiment, The belts A and B were plowed at all localities. Part C was not, and so kept for an inspection. An annual plowing is carried out in the belt A and belt B is left as a fallow land. Belt C is managed as a meadow. Phytocenological records were made in each belt in June and August 2020, and soil samples were taken for determinating the soil seed bank (autumn 2019 and spring 2020). The germination experiment took place over the course of one year in an unheated greenhouse. During the time, the grown seedlings from soil samples, i.e. from the soil seed bank, were determined and counted.
