Specifity of comicality in The Jara Cimrman’s Theatre

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá specifikami komiky Divadla Járy Cimrnana. Studie vychází z mých vlastních analýz textů a videozáznamů her tohoto divadla. Výklad doplňují příklady z textů her DJC a odkazy na vybrané okamžiky z videozáznamů. Hry Divadla Járy Cimrmana mají vlastní specifickou strukturu. Většina z nich se dělí na dvě části. V první půli se koná seminář o životě a díle fiktivní postavy Járy Cimrmana. Druhou částí představení je samotná jednoaktová divadelní hra. Fiktivním autorem této hry je Jára Cimrman, pravými autory jsou potom Ladislav Smoljak a Zděněk Svěrák. První část této studie popisuje specifické projevy komiky v jednotlivých částech hry. V semináři se pracuje s určitými principy, tématy a motivy komiky. Stejně tak hra má své vlastní. Obě části představení však na sebe určitým způsobem navazují a spolupracují. Jazyková komika Divadla Járy Cimrmana tvoří rozsáhlou kapitolu. Ukáže se totiž, že má v tomto divadle významnou funkci. Postupně jsou probrány nejčastějí a typicky cimrmanovské principy a nástroje jazykové komiky. Další část této studie se zabývá mystifikací. Také ona má v tomto divadle významnou pozici – kořeny Divadla Járy Cimrmana sahají k mystifikačnímu rozhlasovému pořadu. Budou probrány způsoby jakým autoři s mystifikací pracují a co ji činí typicky cimrmanovskou. S tím souvisí také práce s fakty a reáliemi, jelikož o ně se mystifikace často opírá. V hrách se také často nalézají komické narážky na některé reálie. Dalším tématem, které tato studie probírá je herectví. Divadlo Járy Cimrmana má svůj specifický jevištní projev, který se podílí na tvorbě komična. Opomenuta nebude ani komika, plynoucí z jevištní akce herce. Určitá část práce je věnována také motivům, tématům a jiným prvkům komiky, které vyplývají ze složení hereckého souboru. Poslední část studie se zabývá divákem, jeho funkcí v komice Divadla Járy Cimrmana a způsoby a principy, jakými je s ním pracováno.

Abstract:

Subject of this thesis is specificity of comicality in The Jara Cimrman’s Theatre. The study is based on Theatre’s script and videorecording analyses, which are my own. Examples from plays of The Jara Cimrman's Theater and allusions to chosen moments from audio – visual records supports this study. The plays of The Jara Cimrman's Theater have specific structure. They are generally broken down into two parts. The first one is a reading about life and work by a fabulous genius named Jara Cimrman. The second one is the play by forenamed genius, which connect on the reading fluently. Authentic playwriters and scriptwriters are Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák. This study describes specific expressions of the comicality in these several parts. There are used characteristic principles and themes in the readings. The plays also have their own principles and themes. Both parts of the theatre performance concur and cooperate. In a part of my thesis I explore the language comicality. It will be proved that it has the relevant role in this theatre. Frequent and typical principles of the using language comicality are in the centre of attention. The next part of this study is a mystification, its typical expressions and methods how scriptwriters works with it. It has a very considerable position: this theatre was borned from mystification. The mystification cooperate with facts. The comical mentions to facts can be also found in the plays. Next theme of this study is dramatic art. The Jara Cimrman’s Theatre has its specific performance, which participates in making comicality. The comicality which results from actor’s stage action is also issue of the study. Some motives, themes and other elements of comicality relate to theatre company members. Last part of the thesis studies audience, its function in comicality of The Jara Cimrman's Theater and methodes how to work with it.
