Motivation as a part of the teaching process with a main focus on English language teaching

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou motivace jako dílčí fáze vyučovacího procesu se zaměřením na výuku anglického jazyka. Pro výuku cizího jazyka je motivace klíčová. Motivace je podpůrnou složkou (nejen) ve výuce cizího jazyka a jejím účelem je probudit u studentů zájmem o daný jazyk. V teoretické části se věnuji motivaci ve vyučování a jejím funkcím a faktorům, které ji ovlivňují. V empirické části se zaměřuji na využití motivace v praxi a její aplikaci. Dále i faktory, které její účast ve vyučování ovlivňují.

Abstract:

This work deals with the issue of motivation as part of the teaching process with a main focus on English language teaching. Motivation is very important for English language teaching. Motivation not only supports second language teaching but also stimulates students’ interest in language learning. The theoretical part of this work focuses mainly on motivation in the teaching and learning process and functions and factors that influence motivation. The practical part of this work explores the use of motivation in practice as well as the factors which can enhance the presence of motivation in the teaching process.
